You can Rhino 6 and Rhino 7 WIP open at the same time on one computer (assuming one Rhino 6 license). You can have multiple sessions of either or both open at the same time on one computer. Modeler3D December 3, 2018, 12:31pm #9. I thought so can not.
In Rhino 6 for Windows, we've fully embraced Grasshopper - the wildly popular visual programming language - by 'baking it in.' Grasshopper is no longer beta; it's a stable development environment. We've also rewritten some features and renovated workflows that needed fundamental overhauls to make them truly productive.
New Features of Rhino 6:
Offline Installation of Rhino 6 The Rhino installer is responsible for making sure your Windows installation has everything it needs to run Rhino. This includes the.NET framework and Microsoft Visual C Runtime redistributable packages. For designers who are exploring new shapes using generative algorithms, Grasshopper® is a graphical algorithm editor tightly integrated with Rhino’s 3-D modeling tools. Unlike RhinoScript, Grasshopper requires no knowledge of programming or scripting, but still allows designers to build form generators from the simple to the awe-inspiring.
- Grasshopper: The long beta period is over: Grasshopper, the world's most beautiful programming language, is now a full-fledged part of Rhino. Used in some of the most ambitious design projects of the past decade, Grasshopper, like Rhino, has become a robust development platform. Grasshopper provides the solid foundation for many incredible third-party components ranging from environmental analysis to robotic control.
- Presentation: Presentation is key: during nearly every phase of design, you need to communicate, getting 'buy-in' from clients, customers, collaborators, or the public at large. We've improved Rhino with the aim of helping you present your work: be it 'quick and dirty' or 'high-res glossy.' With major changes to Rendering, Materials, or just plain capturing the viewport, it's now easier and faster to present, discuss, make decisions, and iterate.
- Display: Rhino's new display pipeline is faster, more stable, and uses features found on modern graphics hardware, like GPU sensitive shaders and memory optimizations. This results in fewer GPU-specific display glitches and more consistent, beautiful, and frequent frames, even with large models. In some conditions, display speed can be up to 300% faster.
- Documentation: Modeling is just one part of the design process; you also need to show how to build what is on the screen. We've refined many parts of the documentation workflow, from a completely reworked annotation-style interface, to better DWG support, and RichText throughout. It's now easier to convey accurately and clearly the what and the how of your design.
- Make2D: Make2D has been completely rewritten to provide faster, better, cleaner, more customizable results.
- Rhino Refinements: Small quirks add up to painful paper cuts over the course of a prolonged modeling session. In Rhino 6, we've fixed hundreds of minor bugs and consolidated disparate - but similar - features into single commands, making Rhino much more refined.
- Development Platform: Rhino is more than just a modeler. With a rich ecosystem of plugins and an open set of development tools, Rhino is quickly becoming the development platform for those seeking to push the envelope of design. Rhino 6 brings major improvements to our free SDKs, with API refinements, better documentation, and more access to Rhino commands from Grasshopper.
DIVA
Design Iterate Validate Adapt
The plug-in that brought advanced daylighting and energy modeling to Rhinoceros and Grasshopper.
DIVA-for-Rhino is Solemma's legacy daylighting and energy modeling plug-in for Rhinoceros, a NURBS modeling software. The plug-in was initially developed at the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University and is distributed by Solemma LLC. DIVA-for-Rhino allows users to carry out a series of environmental performance evaluations of individual buildings and urban landscapes including Radiation Maps, Photorealistic Renderings, Climate-Based Daylighting Metrics, Annual and Individual Time Step Glare Analysis, LEED and CHPS Daylighting Compliance, and Single Thermal Zone Energy and Load Calculations.
DIVA is a plug in for Rhinoceros 3D for Windows, versions 4, 5 and 6.
Advanced User Interface
DIVA for Rhino comes with an enhanced user interface for Grasshopper. Dropdown parameters allow you to quickly select library materials and schedules. Input and output parameters can be added and removed from components at the click of a button, giving you full control over the complexity of your scripts.
Sun Path Diagrams
Real-time display of sun paths and shadows. Design books author templates 6 0 1. Get annual diagrams for any location, and instantly visualize sun positions and shadows for a series of dates and times.
Radiation Maps
Generate solar exposure renderings, calculate PV potential, and explore dynamic falsecolor maps in the CAD viewport. DIVA’s radiation map tools allow simulation on an annual, seasonal, or point-in-time basis.
RADIANCE Renderings
Rhino 69 9000
Create physically accurate renderings using Radiance. Rough draft 1 5 2. DIVA exposes the full complement of Radiance raytracing parameters, allowing full control over simulation speed and quality. Generate photorealistic images, luminance falsecolor maps, and illuminance contour overlays.
Glare Analysis
Assess visual discomfort potential using contrast images and Daylight Glare Probability (DGP). Advanced learning english dictionary. Run a series of time points, or study the entire year using DIVA’s climate-based annual glare maps.
Render Animations
Rhino 6 License Key
Effortlessly generate camera and time-series animations. DIVA makes it easy to render multiple viewpoints and time steps in one go. Simply select cameras and time inputs, and automatically generate HDR image sequences and animated movies.

Dynamic Shading
DIVA is the only software that can simulate arbitrary numbers of independently operated window shades. This allows accurate modeling of open layouts with multiple window orientations. Using DIVA’s dynamic shading tools, you can quickly calculate and visualize window schedules, percentage of occupied hours shades are open, and resulting annual daylight metrics.
Validated Simulation Engines
DIVA for Rhino builds on thoroughly validated and tested simulations engines for daylight and building energy use. Both Radiance and Energy Plus are open source and trusted by the industry.
Spatial Energy Load Visualization
Use Archsim to spatially visualize energy loads. This helps to identify potential energy savings potentials and provides you with design cues to further optimize your building.
Airflow Network Simulations
Use the built in Energy Plus Airflow Network support to simulate natural ventilation including flows through exterior or inter-zone surfaces. The Airflow Network takes buoyancy effects and wind pressure as well as Wind direction and surface orientation into account. It also simulates bi-directional flow through large openings. It does not simulate air circulation and/or air temperature stratification within a thermal zone.

URBAN ENERGY MODELING
Rhino Free 90 Day Trial
Archsim automation features allow you to quickly setup and run energy models at large scales. Analyze energy performance beyond the single building and make use of urban synergies.
